Stayner Sun – Board pulls plug on Clearview ARC

Clearview Township’s deputy mayor, Alicia Savage, was at the meeting and ecstatic about the board’s decision to stop the ARC process.

Savage, a member of the Clearview ARC, had pushed to halt the ARC’s work until the new provincial guidelines could be incorporated into the board’s new policy.

“Caroline Smith pulled off the impossible,” Savage said. “We are truly fortunate to have her in our community. She really gets it and she really cares.”

The deputy mayor also praised members of the ARC, including co-chair Stephanie Davenport, for pressing to use the new guidelines and trustees who took the request to heart.

In a telephone interview Thursday, Smith said she was amazed by what happened the night before.

She praised members of the now disbanded ARC for pushing the board on the issue of the provincial guidelines.
