Caroline Smith  Trustee SCDSB

Caroline Smith  is a trustee on the Simcoe County District School Board.  She has held that position since 2003 representing Collingwood and Clearview Twp.  She  is currently vice-chairperson of the Board.

Smith is an ardent champion of transparency and clarity in public process.  Her education activist work predates her years as trustee. Prior to becoming a trustee, she has served as a school council chair and special education advisory committee (SEAC) member.  As a trustee, she has chaired and vice-chaired a number of committees including Program, Employee Services and By-laws.

She considers parents as partners with teachers and school staff and advocates for public accountability and parental involvement.

In her private life Smith is a licensed paralegal and mother of 4.  She has been married to her husband Greg for twenty-six years.
