Principal Allocation Cut for Duntroon

This past week the SCDSB Human Resources committee staff announced the allocation for principals and vice-principals for the 2011-12 school year.

The following are the key changes to  Area 5 SCDSB elementary schools.  Of particular note is the cutting of the principal allocation at Duntroon Central  PS. Duntroon is one of the schools in the Clearview Elementary ARC that is coming to a special board meeting in two weeks.  SCDSB staff have recommended the closure of Duntroon effective June 2012.

The allocation of principals and vice-principals was presented in an information report delivered  at the June 01, 2011 Human Resource Committee.  The full report is available in pdf form below.

The Ministry of Education  funding formulae generates the funding of a full time principal for each school in Ontario. School boards have the discretion to allocate funding as they deem appropriate. Principal/ vice-principal allocations are determined by the Director/senior staff.  School student population is one of the factors utilized in the determination of the allocation.
