Good News for Schools

Closed classrooms will open up for French core programming, where locked classrooms exist.  This is going to be very positive for both students and teachers.  This change will support core French but also allow for other uses of the home classrooms while students are in French Class.

School Basic Budget -  Principals will not have to slash to the bone their classroom basic budgets.  Per student basic budget amounts will be maintained from this current year.

An attempt was made to bring ARC B back to the table and close Pentanguishene Secondary.   For this trustee the issue was very much the legitimacy of trying to reopen an old ARC at this late date. The attempt had potential  ramifications to all schools tied to ARC  B .   The direction of the motion was  simply failed to provide legitimate fairness the public deserves within ARC procedures.  This was a very tight vote 6:6 and motion failed.
