Last evening the SCDSB Board announced a vacancy on the Board. There were a number of requests for information in my email late last night and early this a.m. – in essence asking what happens next.
The Education Act deals with the possibility of a trustee resigning from the role during an elected term. It requires the Board to either appoint or run a by-election within 60 days of the vacancy. The SCDSB Board decided last night to initiate an appointment process.
Information will be circulated by the SCDSB as to the exact process and timelines.
