MIDHURST – Trustees with the Simcoe County District School Board, at their meeting in Midhurst on Wednesday, scrapped the accommodation review of elementary schools in Clearview Township and disbanded the local committee involved in the project.
Initially at the meeting, Trustee Caroline Smith, who represents Clearview, presented a motion that called for the local accommodation review committee (ARC) to cease its work until the board could establish its new accommodation review policy.
The ARC wanted to use new provincial guidelines – that will become part of the new policy – requiring board staff to disclose their preferred options for schools under review at the start of the process, rather than waiting until the end, when the committee presents its recommendations on local schools.
